Section 129(6) of the Companies Act 2014 says so, and it catches most single-director companies on day one.
- One of your directors has to be resident in the EEA.
If none is, section 137 asks for a bond to the value of €25,000, or a certificate under section 140, before you file.
- A name that is free today is not yours yet.
Under section 26 the Registrar can refuse any name he considers undesirable, and for six months after incorporation can still direct you to change it.
